Danger! | Risk of personal and material damages when tilting and returning the vehicle cab. | Make sure that the area of cab return and tilting is free of people and objects. Tilt the cab until safety rod locks it in final position. Return the cab to its correct lockout in work position. | |

2 | Disconnect battery cables. | ||
3 | Remove wiring harness piping (6) from alternator and release it from the bolt in the sump (arrow). | ||
4 | Disconnect the crankshaft positioning transmitter connector (5). | ||
5 | Disconnect electrical cables (3, 4) from starter motor (1). | Electrical cable, terminal block 30 | |

6 | Remove the bolts (2) and take the starter motor out (1). | | |
Check the starter motor pinion for possible wear. If necessary, repair the starter motor. | |||
Check the flywheel ring gear for possible wear. Replace it if necessary. | |||
Mount: Lubricate the starter engine pinion and the flywheel ring gear using long-lasting grease. | |||
7 | Mount in reverse order. |
