| Remove and install | ||
Danger! | Risk of burns and scalding at jobs on AdBlue pipes and on components connected to them. Risk of injuries on skin and eyes from contact with AdBlue. Risk of poisoning from AdBlue ingestion | Only collect AdBlue in appropriate containers. Only start working on the exhaust gas aftertreatment system after pressure relief.
| Indications on applications, material properties and handling AdBlue | ||
1 | Turn-off the battery master switch
2 | Open the AdBlue reservoir access cover
Danger! | Risk of injuries on skin and eyes, from burns caused by steam or overheated coolant. Risk of poisoning from ingesting coolant | Open the cooling system only when the temperature is below 90 °C. Open the cap slowly and let the excessive pressure out. Coolant is not to be placed in beverage containers. Utilize gloves, appropriate clothes and safety glasses.
3 | Relieve coolant system pressure | Vehicles with CODE (HV1) AdBlue heating.
| Notes on engine coolant | ||
4 | Remove the cover (2) | Installing: Replace the cables plastic tiers.
5 | Detach the electric connector (10) and remove the electric wire from the assembly of pipes of the combined sensor | Installing: Replace the cables plastic tiers.
6 | Open the insulation hoses (3,4) in an approximate length of 10 cm and displace to the rear
7 | Pinch the coolant pipes (5,8) and the AdBlue pipes (6,7) | Vehicles with CODE (HV1) AdBlue heating.
| |||
8 | Detach the coolant pipes (5,8) st the connections | Store the coolant in an appropriate container.
Installing: After installing AdBlue reservoir (1), return the collected coolant to the cooling system.
9 | Detach the AdBlue pipes (6,7) from the connections | Vehicles with CODE (HV1) AdBlue heating.
10.1 | Remove the combined temperature and level sensor (14) | Valid for vehicles 382.15, 634.011.
Only if necessary to replace the reservoir (1)
10.2 | Remove the combined temperature and level sensor (14) from the reservoir (1) | Valid for vehicles 634.061/71/81, .
Installing: Replace the sealing ring (15)
Detach the connector (10) only if replacing the combined level and temperature sensor (14).
11 | Drain the AdBlue | Do not refill the used AdBlue, as impure AdBlue can damage the SCR system.
12 | Unscrew the bolt (11) and remove the plate (9) from the reservoir support (13), on both sides
13 | Loosen the closing strap (12) on the reservoir support (13)
14 | Remove the AdBlue reservoir (1) | On models 634.061/071/081 the AdBlue reservoir (1) is supplied ex-factory fastened by plastic straps. The arrangement and fastening of the AdBlue reservoir will depend on body model and make.
15 | Install in reverse order
16 | Check the pipes connection area for tightness | Just visual inspection. |
