Remove/install low pressure-shutoff valve of natural gas system

Remove/install

 Danger!

Risk of explosion caused by escaping natural gas or overheated compressed-gas tanks when working on natural gas powered vehicles. Risk of frostbite to parts of the body caused by escaping natural gas and by touching components near the valves when emptying compressed-gas tanks. Risk of poisoning or risk of suffocation caused by inhaling natural gas.

Remove any sources of ignition.

Ensure that the work area is adequately ventilated.

Wear heat protective gloves.

Close the gas cylinder, drain the gas lines of the natural gas system

Detach electrical connector (1) from low pressure shutoff valve (Y107/9)

Mark the union nuts (2, 3) and unscrew

 Open union nuts (2, 3) carefully, as there may be gas remaining in gas line (4) and in the gas hose.

 Installation: Tighten the union nuts (2, 3).

Tighten the threaded pipe connections of the gas lines

Unclip gas line (4) from the retaining clip on the firewall

Remove bolts (5)

Remove low pressure shutoff valve (Y107/9)

 Close off the gas line (4), gas hose and the openings in low pressure shutoff valve (Y107/9) with suitable stop plugs.

Install in the reverse order

Carry out leak test of natural gas system
