1.1 | Detach charge air manifold at cylinder head and place to the side with engine wiring harness connected | Only on vehicles with code MD1, MS5, MF8 (exhaust gas recirculation). It is not necessary to separate the engine wiring harness at the vehicle side. | |
2 | Disconnect plug connection for pressure regulating valve (1) | ||
3 | Remove pressure regulator valve (Y74) | Sealing rings (2 and 4) and support ring (3) must be replaced. | |

4 | Clean sealing surfaces | ||
5 | Lightly grease sealing rings (2 and 4) with special grease before installing pressure regulator valve | If seals are damaged when being installed, this may result in internal leaks which are not recognizable from the outside. | |
6 | Insert pressure regulator valve (Y74) | Tighten bolts at pressure regulator valve fully in stages. | |
