B2/5 Hot film mass air flow sensor
| Remove/install | ||
1 | Switch off ignition | ||
2 | Remove air filter housing (1).
3 | Disconnect the electrical connector (2) at the hot film mass air flow sensor (B2/5)
4 | Disengage the right notch (3a) of the hot film mass air flow sensor (B2/5) at the resonance intake manifold (4) | Never use force as the notches can break off! If notches break then the complete hot film MAF sensor (B2/5) must be installed new.
Pull the right notch (3a) upwards while doing this until it can no longer latch onto the resonance intake manifold (4).
5 | Unlatch the left notch (3b) for the hot film MAF sensor (B2/5) on the resonance intake manifold (4) and tilt the hot film MAF sensor (B2/5) slightly to the rear | Do not the damage the grid (A) in the process as it cannot be replaced separately!
6 | Disengage the spring steel sheet (5) and remove the hot film mass air flow sensor (B2/5) from the air duct housing (6)
| Checking | ||
7 | Check the gasket (7) between the air duct housing (6) and the hot film mass air flow sensor (B2/5) for damage
8 | Check the notches (3a, 3b) and spring steel sheet (5) for damage | If notches (3a, 3b) are damaged, then the entire hot film MAF sensor (B2/5) must be installed anew. If the spring sheet steel (5) is damaged, then the entire air duct housing must be replaced.
9 | Install in the reverse order
10 | Read out fault memory
| Connect STAR DIAGNOSIS and read out fault memory |
