1 | Pull engine cover upwards off cylinder head cover | ||
2 | Remove air filter housing (1). | ||
3 | Release fuel pressure through service valve (5) | ||

4 | Dismount fuel feed line (2) from fuel distributor (4) | Collect fuel. | |
5 | Remove holder for engine wiring harness on fuel distributor (4) | ||
6 | Disconnect electrical connector (6) to injection valves (Y62) | Carefully detach electrical connectors (risk of cracks and fracture). | |
7 | Remove bolts (3) and lift fuel distributor (4) with injection valves (Y62) evenly from cylinder head | ||

8 | Check O-rings for injection valves (Y62) for damage | Replace if necessary. | |
9 | Check injection valves (Y62) | Defect injectors must be replaced: | |
Remove/install injection valves. | |||

10 | Insert fuel distributor (4) with injection valves (Y62) and screw in bolts (3) | Lightly moisten O-rings with lubricant paste. | |

11 | Plug electrical connectors (6) onto injection valves (Y62) | ||
12 | Mount holder for engine wiring harness on fuel distributor (4) | ||
13 | Fit fuel feed line (2) to fuel distributor (4) | | |
14 | Close off service valve (5) at fuel distributor (4) with cap | ||
15 | Install air filter housing (1) | ||
16 | Read out diagnostic trouble code memory using STAR DIAGNOSIS and erase if necessary |
