Measure valve setback to cylinder head

1 Place dial indicator holder (6) on cylinder head separating surface (1).

2 Place dial indicator (5) with a preload on cylinder head separating surface (1).

3 Set scale of dial indicator to "0".

4 Move dial indicator (5) with dial indicator holder (6) until tracer pin is positioned on valve plate of intake valve (2) or exhaust valve (3).

If permissible values were exceeded: Check valves and valve seats.
