| Removing | ||
| Remove timing case cover
| Check basic position of camshafts
| Remove chain tensioner
| Remove bolt (2) and camshaft sprocket (3) from the exhaust camshaft (4) | To remove bolt (2) counterhold exhaust camshaft (4) at hexagon.
| Remove timing chain (1) from ring gear on camshaft adjuster (16) and crankshaft (10)
| Install | ||
| Check whether marking (12) on crankshaft (10) and marking (11) on crankcase (13) coincide with each other | Possibly also turn the crankshaft (10) at the ring gear on flywheel.
| Lay new timing chain (1) on the crankshaft (10) ring gear and camshaft adjuster (16) ring gear in such a way that a black chain link (7) lies opposite each of the markings (6, 9) | There are three black chain link (7) attached to the circumference of the timing chain (1). Possibly turn camshaft adjuster (16) at hexagon on the intake camshaft (8).
| Insert camshaft sprocket (3) in the timing chain (1) such a way that the marking (5) lies opposite a black chain link (7)
| Place camshaft sprocket (3) on the exhaust camshaft (4) and tighten firmly with the bolt (2) | The marking (14) on the camshaft sprocket (3) and the marking (15) on the camshaft adjuster (16) must coincide with each other. To tighten bolt (2), counterhold exhaust camshaft (4) at hexagon.
| |||
| Installing chain tensioner
| Turn crankshaft (10) through two revolutions clockwise (arrow) | Turn the crankshaft (10) at the ring gear on the flywheel.
| Once again check basic position of the camshafts
| Install timing case cover |
