 Caution

Risk of injury to skin and eyes due to handling of engine oil. Risk of poisoning caused by swallowing engine oil

Wear protective gloves, protective clothing and safety glasses.
Do not fill engine oil into beverage containers.

Remove/install

Remove the camshaft housing with camshafts.

Mark roller-type rocker arms (3) and compensating elements (1) relative to each other and to respective installation location.

In case of recycling.

Remove roller-type rocker arms (3) together with the compensating elements (1).



Specified engine oils (service) - Overview

 Installation: Lubricate the roller cam follower (3) and compensating elements (1).

Remove clamps (2) by hand and remove compensating elements (1) from the roller-type rocker arms (3).



Check

Check compensating elements (1) for proper operation.


Push compensating elements (1) together only by hand; do not use a steel tool.
Otherwise, the surfaces of the compensating elements (1) will be damaged.

 It should not be possible to press the compensating elements (1) together with normal force of the hand and they should move together only very slowly when great pressure is applied.

If several compensating elements (1) are defective,



check forced oil supply of cylinder head.

Install in the reverse order.
