Remove camshafts (1)

Remove compensating elements (2)


Do not use magnets.
The compensating element (2) slide surfaces could be magnetized otherwise. This can cause minute iron chips to accumulate, which can damage the compensating element (2) and the cam.

Check

Check camshaft housings (3) for damage

Check surface of basic bore and camshaft (1) contact surfaces for score marks and damage; replace camshaft case (3) if necessary.

Remove/install camshaft housing
