Remove intake camshaft (2) and exhaust camshaft (1)

Take hydraulic valve clearance compensation element (3) out of the camshaft housing

Take out a hydraulic valve clearance compensation element (3) and fit it in reverse order onto the remaining hydraulic valve clearance compensation elements (3) and pull these out of the camshaft housing as such (adhesion), only if the hydraulic valve clearance compensation elements (3) cannot be pulled out in such a way then use the magnet (4)

Installation: Install hydraulic valve clearance compensation elements (3) again at the point where they were removed.

Inspect basic bore in camshaft housing

Check surface of basic bore in camshaft housing for score marks and damage, replace camshaft housing if necessary.

Check oil ducts of camshaft housing

If necessary clean oil ducts of camshaft housing.

Install in the reverse order

Remove/install hydraulic valve clearance compensation elements
