Remove/install

Remove camshafts (1, 2)

Take hydraulic valve clearance compensation element (3) out of the camshaft housing

Take out one hydraulic valve clearance compensation element, fit this reversed onto the remaining ones and, in this way, pull them out of the camshaft housing (adhesion); use magnetic lifter (4), if necessary

Inspecting

Inspect basic bore in camshaft housing

Inspect surface of basic bore for scores and damage, if necessary

replace camshaft housing

Install in the reverse order

Remove/install hydraulic valve clearance compensation elements
