Remove

1.1

Remove flywheel.

Remove drive plate.

Remove radial shaft sealing ring (1) from the timing case cover (2) using a suitable tool.


Do not damage the crankshaft and sealing surface of the timing case cover (2).
Leaks can occur otherwise.



Check

Check sealing surface of radial shaft sealing ring (1) on timing case cover (2) for ridging.

If problems occur,



Deburr sealing surface.



Install

Wet sealing lip(1d) of radial shaft sealing ring(1) with engine oil.



Push radial shaft sealing ring (1) in the direction of the arrow onto the insertion tool (3a).

Position insertion tool (3a) on crankshaft and attach using two screws.


The contact surfaces must be clean and free of grease.
Leaks can occur otherwise.

Push insertion device (4) onto the insertion tool (3).

Position insertion tool (3) and position nut.

 Align bores in the  insertion tool (3) with the screws of the  insertion tool (3a).

Screw in nut further and insert radial shaft sealing ring (1) until the insertion tool (3) lies on the timing case cover (2).


The radial shaft sealing ring (1) must be flush touching the timing case cover (2).
Leaks can occur otherwise.

 Ensure that radial shaft sealing ring (1) has been pulled in equally over the whole circumference.

Remove screws for insertion tool (3a) from the crankshaft and remove insertion tools (3, 3a) with the insertion device (4).

Install flywheel.

 Only install lower engine compartment paneling after a leak test.

Install drive plate.

Check and correct engine oil level.



Carry out engine test run and check engine for proper leaktightness and leaktightness.
