1 Retaining lock

3 Radial seal

2 Belt pulley/vibration damper

Removing, installing

Install retaining lock (1) for crankshaft/ring gear

Remove belt pulley/vibration damper (2)

Inspect contact surface of hub for signs of wear.

Use a screwdriver to press out radial seal (3)

Do not damage crankshaft and mounting hole for radial seal

Use a clean cloth as a base.

Install front crankshaft radial seal (3)

Install in the reverse order

Testing

Run engine and inspect for leaks

Determine oil leaks after spraying the cleaned and dried surrounding area with MB white contrast spray.
