1 Install piston according to the stage identification marking.
The pistons are marked to the cylinder bore with a step marking X or (arrow). In case of repair, assign the pistons to the cylinder bores on the basis of the indicated step markings (see chart).

On engine 271.942 only crankcases are fitted with the stage identification marking X on all cylinder bores.
