1 The liner collar will be machined only when the seating surface of the metal ring shows corrosion or deformation interfering wth the perfect seating of the liner on the block.

2 During the first machining of the liner collar seating, a metal ring (d) "Normal 1" (0.52 to 0.48 mm) should be installed.

3 The shim (h) under the metal ring (d) at measures: 0,80; 1.00 and 1.50 mm will be used only in later repairs where the larger metal ring is not enough to compensate for the height of the liner protrusion above the block surface.

Calculation of Depth D 1 for placement of shims.

Example:

Check the height (y) of the liner collar .................... 9.91

Add the thickness of the metal ring (d) ...................... 0.15

Add the thickness of the shim (h) to be used ........... 0.80

Total ................................................. ................................... 10.86

Offset the protrusion (C). ..............................................-0,08

Depth D1 to be obtained when calculating,

from the surface of the block to the shim support

(h) to be achieved by machining ......................... 10.78

Measure to be machined by milling (for control in the proximate vernier).

Check the thickness of the shim to be used ....................................... 0.80

Offset the wear shown by the block ........................................ 0.20

Measure to be offset by milling and obtained by machining ....... 0.60
