1 | The anti-vibration pulley (1),.
2 | Remove the oil deflector (2). | Install:Assemble the oil deflector with the rim facing the engine.
3 | Remove the three bolts (9) attaching the oil pan (10) to the cover (5) and slacken the other bolts (9) fastening the oil pan (10). | The loosening of the oil pan fastening bolts is necessary so the oil pan gives a little and does not damage the gasket (8).
In case of gasket (8) damage, replace it.
Install: Observe the tightening sequence and the recommended torque for the oil pan fastening bolts.
| |||
4 | Remove the bolts (4) and the front cover (5) with the seal (3). | Carefully force the lateral and top rims of the cover (5), detaching it from the guide-pins (7). Install: Oil the seal race on the crankshaft with engine oil.
| |||
5 | Remove the clutch (6). | Install: Clean the sealing surfaces on the cover and on the engine block. Accommodate the new gasket (6) fitting it on the guide-pins (7). Carefully cut the two ends so they are flush with the gasket (8). Apply sealing compound on the two ends (see arrow) of the gasket (6), at the joints with the gasket (8).
6 | Check the contact area of the seal (3) on the crankshaft. | In case of damage or wear
Install or replace the race.
7 | Remove the seal (3) from the cover (5), with the mandrel (11). | Install: Support the cover (5) on a flat base and install the seal (3) with the mandrel (11), until the inside edge of the seal body is parallel to the machined surface of the cover (arrow). Utilize the appropriate seal inside diameter 98 mm - when not utilizing a false race; inside diameter 103 mm - when utilizing a false race;.

Danger! | Risk of personal and material damages when starting the engine with the gearbox shifted in gear. Risk of personal damages when carrying out jobs with the engine heated up and running. | Make sure the gearbox is in neutral. Utilize appropriate clothes and pay attention to the engine's heated-up and moving parts.
9 | Run the engine. | Do not crank the engine continuously for more than 30 seconds. If the engine does not fire within this interval, wait approximately 1 minute to crank it again.
10 | Check the engine oil pressure with the engine idling. | Do not accelerate the engine until oil pressure is shown on the indicator. The oil pressure will have to be reestablished in approximately 10 seconds.
11 | Stop the engine and check for eventual leaks. | Control the engine oil level , 5 minutes after engine shutdown. |
