Remove/install

 Danger!

Risk of death caused by vehicle slipping or tilting off of the lifting platform.

Align vehicle between columns of vehicle lift and position four support plates at vehicle lift support points specified by vehicle manufacturer.

Remove engine with the front axle carrier (8)

Attach engine hoist to engine lifting eyes

 Secure front axle carrier (8) on portable lifting platform with tensioning strap.

Load regulator

Raise engine

 Only raise far enough for chain on engine hoist to be lightly tensioned.

Remove screw/bolt (1) from the engine mounts



Remove bracket (2) at oil pan (3)



Unscrew banjo bolt (4) on power steering pump (5)

 Installation: Replace seals.



Remove front propeller shaft (6) on transfer case (7)

 Mark front propeller shaft (6) relative to propeller shaft flange (6a).

 Installation: It is essential to observe the tightening instructions. Failure to do so can result in noises and vibrations.

Detach vent line for front axle gear at vent valve

Lift engine and transmission out of the front axle carrier (8)

 Installation: Ensure that engine mount is seated correctly in the catches on the front axle carrier (8).
