Danger

Risk of death caused by vehicle slipping or toppling off of the lifting platform.

Align vehicle between vehicle lift columns and position the four support plates at the vehicle lift support points specified by the vehicle manufacturer.

Attach counterholder to screws (1) of belt pulley (2).

Turn engine with counterholder in direction of engine rotation until marking (3) on belt pulley (2) coincides with web (4) on oil pan.

Check the precise alignment of marking (3) and web (4) with a mirror.
Piston of cylinder 1 is now at top dead center (TDC).
