Remove/install

Remove spark plug of the cylinder to be checked.



Remove right charge air line and charge air cooler, attach with connected lines on vehicle so that free of tension and secure against falling down.

Do not crush or kink or subject lines to tension.
This would lead to damage to the lines and can impair their function.

2.2

Remove engine air intake duct upstream of air filter.

Turn engine at center bolt of the crankshaft in the direction of engine rotation until the piston of the cylinder to be checked is at bottom dead center (BDC).

Connect endoscope (2) to light source (1) and insert through the spark plug bore in the cylinder to be checked.



Check cylinder barrels, valves and valve seats.

If the condition of the cylinder barrels, valves or valve seats is ambiguous or the cylinder barrels, valves or valve seats are damaged:



Remove cylinder head and perform additional measures.

Install in the reverse order.
