Remove

Remove combined injection

 Only cylinder that will be verified.

Remove timing case cover and install turning device

Light and inspect

With the turning device, place the verified cylinder piston at the lower neutral point

Connect endoscope (1) to the cylinder inspection lighting device and turn it on

 Refer to the manufacturer's use instructions before using device.

Insert the endoscope (1) through the cylinder protection glove opening

 The environment/engine temperature must be  80 °C.

 The endoscope (1) must not lean or hit the piston, otherwise the device will be damaged.

Inspect the cylinder wall, the bottom of the piston and the compression chamber and valves

 In case of damage or doubt:



Eventually inspect other cylinders

 On engine 924.9, cylinder inspection can be made in two camshaft positions: Cylinders 1 and 4 on bottom neutral point, cylinders 2 and 3 on bottom neutral point.

On engine 926.9, cylinder inspection can be made in three camshaft positions: Cylinders 1 and 6 on bottom neutral point, cylinders 2 and 5 on bottom neutral point, cylinders 3 and 4 on bottom neutral point.



Install:

Remove timing case cover and install turning device

The turning device must be removed before engine is started, otherwise there will be damages to toothed belt or timing case.
