A Clearance between ring gear and banking screw
| Adjustment of the banking screw can be used as parameter to determine the preload state of the planetary gear bearings. Ring gear sliding pad back is easily noticeable by increasing the resistance to turn the screw. If the sliding pad touches the ring gear after that, the banking screw keeps advancing and it will be the indication that planetary gear bearings are loosen and therefore the preload needs to be adjusted. | ||
1 | Loose counter nut (2) | ||
2 | Hold counter nut (2) and screw it (1) until sliding pad (3) touches the ring gear
3 | Unscrew about the ring gear banking screw to get specified "A" clearance between the ring gear and screw
4 | Hold the screw on adjusted position and tighten counter nut (2) to lock the screw in this position.
