Danger! | Risk of accident caused by vehicle starting off by itself when engine is running. Risk of injury caused by contusions and burns during starting procedure or when working near the engine as it is running | Secure vehicle to prevent it from moving by itself. | |
Danger! | Risk of injury to skin and eyes caused by scalding from contact with hot coolant spray. Risk of poisoning caused by swallowing coolant. | Do not open cooling system unless coolant temperature is below 90°C. Open cap slowly and release the pressure. Do not pour coolant into beverage containers. Wear protective gloves, protective clothing and safety glasses. |

(in vol.%)
B Total coolant filling capacity
(in liters)
C Replenishment quantity of anti-corrosion agent and antifreeze (in liters)
N20.00-0376-04
Example
The antifreeze of the coolant should be 20 °C, giving an anti-freeze concentration and anti-freeze concentration (A) of
32 vol.%.
The accepted total coolant fill quantity (B) is 41 liters.
This results in a replenishment quantity of anti-corrosion agent and anti-freeze (C) of 10.85 liters.
1 Determine the antifreeze of the coolant using the antifreeze tester (hydrometer), Duo-Check 7182.
2 Determine the anti-corrosion agent concentration and
anti-freeze concentration (A) by means of the following assignment:
Antifreeze Anti-corrosion agent concentration and anti-freeze concentration (A)
10 °C 20 vol.-%
15°C 26 vol %
18°C 30 vol %
20°C 32 vol %
25°C 37 vol %
27°C 40 vol %
30°C 42 vol %
33°C 45 vol %
37°C 50 vol.-%
3 Enter the anti-corrosion agent concentration and anti-freeze concentration (A) in the calculation table of the replenishment quantity of the anti-corrosion agent and anti-freeze (C).
4 Gather the total coolant filling capacity (B) from the basic data table and enter in the calculation table of the replenishment quantity of the anti-corrosion agent and anti-freeze (C).
5 Calculate the replenishment quantity of anti-corrosion agent and anti-freeze (C).
6 Drain the coolant corresponding to the calculated replenishment quantity of corrosion and antifreeze (C).
7 Fill the cooling system with the calculated replenishment quantity of anti-corrosion agent and anti-freeze (C).
8 Start engine and run for about 1 minute at varying revs
