On models fitted with automatic transmission selector lever position "N" of the automatic transmission must not be engaged when the cruise control is active!

In the event of a malfunction it is then necessary to inspect cables, fuses, connectors and plug connections for open circuit, good contact and correct connection, in accordance with the applicable wiring diagram.

The test is carried out in part with test adapter 126 589 05 21 00 (special tool). When conducting tests with this test adapter, separate the 14-pin connector of the cruise control control module A1 and plug in the test adapter in its place.
