A8/1 Transmitter key
Body
An "electronic key" is integrated in the transmitter key. This key includes an FM radio transmitter, an infrared transmitter/receiver unit, a computer chip as well as tow batteries (button cells).
Moreover, the following controls and control indicators are integrated:
- Lock transmit button (1)
- Unlock transmit button (2)
- Battery indicator lamp (3)
The mechanical emergency key (5) can be removed from the transmitter key after actuating the unlock slider (4).
Task
The transmitter key has the following tasks:
- Lock central locking (CL)
- Unlock CL ("selective/global")
- Display of battery status for transmitter key via battery indicator lamp
With "selective" unlocking, the driver door and the fuel filler flap are unlocked by pressing once.
With "global" unlocking, the vehicle is unlocked completely by pressing one.
It is possible to switch from "selective" unlocking to "global" unlocking by simultaneously pressing the lock button on the transmitter key for approx. t = 5 s until the battery indicator lamp in the transmitter key flashes twice.
