3 | Remove brake shoe pins (4) | Installation: Check the brake shoe pins (4) and retaining springs (3) for wear and damage, replace if necessary. Grease support areas of the brake shoe (6) at the brake shoe pins (4). | |
4 | Remove retracting springs (8) and the retainer plates (9) | Installation: Replace retracting springs (8). | |
5 | Remove brake shoes (6) together with retracting spring (5) | Installation: Replace retracting spring (5) and hook up before installing brake shoes (6). | |
6 | Remove bearing pin (7) | Only if the brake linings or brake shoes (6) are replaced | |
7 | Clean brake shoe bearing (arrows) and brake camshaft (2) and check for condition | Installation: Replace component if worn or damaged: | |
Remove/install brake camshaft (2). | |||
Remove/install brake carrier (1). | |||
Installation: Grease contact surfaces of brake shoes on brake shoe bearing (arrows). | |||
8 | Install in the reverse order | ||
9 | Adjust play of drum brake | ||
10 | Conduct a road test |
