Description | Cause | Remedy |
Finish paint swells and loses gloss. In some cases the paint can peel. | Carelessness with brake fluid: The aggressive substances diffuse into the paint causing it to swell. | Remove brake fluid immediately with large quantities of water. The swelling can usually be eliminated with an infrared radiator or in a drying oven for one 1 hour at max. 80 °C depending on the degree of damage. If necessary, sand with P 1500 followed by P 2000 grain sand paper, then polish surface mechanically with Mercedes-Benz Paint Cleaner. Apply Mercedes-Benz Paint Care as a final treatment following polishing work. If not successful, thoroughly sand down damaged point and repaint. |
