Position
4 Heating valve of the tank SCR (17Y02)
The heating valve of the tank (4) is at the back of the engine, near the head.
Function
Through the heating valve of the tank (4), the coolant is diverted from the engine cooling circuit to heat the AdBlue in the AdBlue tank

Composition
1 Electrical connection
2 Engine coolant (inlet)
3 Pump module coolant (outlet)
17Y02 Heating valve of the tank SCR
The heating valve of the tank (4) is a 2/2 stack valve with pipes (2,3) for conduction of the coolant. In the inside, there is the valve body with a solenoid armature.
Function
The heating valve of the tank (4) is driven by the control module (MR). Through the AdBlue combined temperature and fill level sensor, the control module detects when the temperature of the AdBlue of the tank approaches the limit value set at 8 °C. When the coolant reaches a temperature of 65 °C, the control module sends a signal to open the heating valve (4) and the coolant is diverted from the engine cooling circuit.
The pipe of the engine cooling circuit liquid is connected to the cooling inlet (2). When the heating valve (4) is not opened, the coolant works inside the valve body.
The heating valve (4) keeps the passage between the engine cooling piping and pump module piping closed, due to the spring force.
When a current is applied to the solenoid valve, it releases the passage of coolant, which starts to flow into the cooling pipe.
By interrupting the power supply to the solenoid valve, the spring acts again in its initial position. With this, the passage between the engine cooling pipe and the cooling pipe (3) is closed again.
