Risk of injuries when working on components with compressed springs.
Serious injuries may occur when loosening or disassembling parts that are compressed by springs. In these cases suitable tension devices are to be utilized for each case.
- Behavior rules and protection measures.
To carry out repairs in springs, power accumulators and other components that have compressed springs, always utilize the recommended devices.
- Spring compressor.
To tighten or release the springs, do not employ pneumatic tools.
- Inspection of the compressing devices.
The spindle of the compressors have to turn smoothly and should not be damaged
The thrust plates should not be bent, observe the seating of the thrust plates and the springs.
The spring coil diameter has to correspond to the thrust plate fit.
