Remove
1 Unlock and slacken the collar nut (4) from the Pitman arm (3), however, do not remove it.
Procedure for steering gear (1) outside the vehicle and with the support plate removed.
Danger: If the nut is removed in this operation, the sudden loosening of the Pitman arm together with the puller may cause severe injuries.
2 Pull the Pitman arm (3) with the help of a puller.
3 Remove the collar nut (4) and the Pitman arm (3).
Installing
4 Install the Pitman arm (3) in the steering case (1).
The markings (A, B) on the steering sector shaft (2) and on the Pitman arm (3) must coincide.
5 Install a new collar nut (4) and tighten to specified torque.
6 Lock the collar nut (4) in slot on the steering sector shaft (2).
