Bleeding | |||
1 | Suspend the vehicle by the front axle and immobilize it or place it on turning plates | For articulated bus, do not exceed the maximum folding angle (vertical plane) permitted in straight line of 10°.
2 | Remove the reservoir cap (3) | Before removing the cap (3), thoroughly clean its surrounding to avoid dirt getting in the hydraulic fluid.
3 | Check the hydraulic fluid level (1) in the reservoir, and if necessary replenish it | The hydraulic fluid level must not exceed the maximum level indication (max).
Danger! | Risk of accident by unintentional rolling with the engine running. Risk of injuries by crushing and burns caused by contact during the startup procedure or with the engine running | Secure the vehicle against unintentional rolling. Utilize closed and tight fitting work clothes. Do not touch heated or moving parts.
4 | Start the engine and let it run for 3 min | For vehicles with steered rear axle let the engine run for 10 min.
5 | Turn the steering wheel several times from stop to stop, while observing the hydraulic fluid level | Continue the process until no more air bubbles are shown in the reservoir.
If necessary, replenish with hydraulic fluid up to the maximum level indication (max).
6 | Check the hydraulic system for tightness | Visual inspection.
7 | Install the reservoir cap (3) | Correct hydraulic fluid level: a With the engine idling the hydraulic fluid level must be between the (min) and (max) marking; b With the engine stopped the hydraulic fluid level may be approx. 1 cm above the (max) marking.
8 | Lower the vehicle. |
