Removing
The condition of the compact bearing and the quantity of grease should be checked in the following cases:
- During the maintenance intervals, see the lubricants list.
- In case of grease leakage from the inner seal of the wheel hub (brake disc side).
- In case of overheated brake parts, for example: pressure parts.
Description of the components:
1 - Wheel hub
2 - Retaining ring
3 - Compact bearing
4 - O-ring
5 - Shaft seal ring (flange side)
6 - Shaft seal ring (brake disc side)

1 Remove the retaining ring (2).

2 Remove the inner ring of the bearing on the flanged side of the shaft.

3 Pressing the inner bearing ring with the bearing seal ring outside the hub (1) hole.

4 Press the shaft sealing ring out of the inner bearing ring.

Install
When replacing the compact bearing (3) or changing the grease during the maintenance intervals, the wheel hub (1) and the compact bearing (3) should be thoroughly clean.
The retaining ring (2) and the "O" ring (4) are provided as separate parts in the compact bearing (3) set.

5 Install the outer races of the inner and outer bearings, using the mandrel on the wheel hub (1).

6 Apply grease throughout the market extension (----) on the rollers and bearing cages.
Apply grease correctly to the inner and outer parts, as well as to the front zones.
Use only lubricants approved by ZF in the ZF Lubricants List

7 Install the inner race of the inner bearing (brake disc side) on the wheel hub.
To properly seat the inner race rollers, press it firmly against the outer race and rotate it a few times in both directions.
The inner race of the inner bearing is recognized by the O-ring channel (arrow).

8 Install the sealing ring (6) of the shaft on the brake disc side, with the sealing lip pointing downwards.
For better installation, use the specified bracket 58 70 051 053
Grease the sealing lip.

9 Install the inner race of the outer bearing on the wheel hub.
To properly seat the inner race rollers, press it firmly against the outer race and rotate it a few times in both directions.
Make sure that no clearance exists between both inner races of the bearings.

10 Lock the inner races of the bearings with the retaining ring (arrow).
Make sure that the retaining ring is correctly positioned in the inner race channels.
From this step onwards, lifting the outer race of the outer bearing is no longer possible.

In case of incorrect placement of the retaining ring, note dimension "A" between both bearings.
