The king pin should be mounted without clearance on the steering knuckle. Therefore, during installation, check and adjust if required.

Remove
Lower stub axle king pin
1 Loosen the screws (6).
2 Remove from the joint housing, the king pin (5), the thrust roller bearing (4) and the bushing (3) with the sealing ring (2).
Replace the sealing ring (2).

Upper stub axle king pin
3 Loosen the screws (2, 3).
On the mounting side of the steering box, remove the steering arm (1).
4 Remove from the joint housing (7), the king pin (4), the compensating washer (5) and the bushing (6).

Installing
Replace micro-encapsulated screws.
Lower stub axle king pin
5 Mount the new sealing ring (1) onto the bushing (2).
Grease the sealing ring.
6 Mount on the king pin (4), the thrust roller bearing (3) and the bushing (2) with the sealing ring (1).
7 Install the king pin in the joint housing and tighten the screws to the specified torque.

Upper stub axle king pin
8 Refit the upper king pin (4), the compensating washer (5) and the bushing (6).
9.1 (On the mounting side of the steering box) Install the upper king pin and the steering arm on the joint housing and tighten the screws (1, 2) to the specified torque.
9.2 (Opposite side to the mounting side of the steering box) Install the upper king pin and tighten the screws (1, 2) to the specified torque.
