| Indications for chassis damages and their causes | ||
| Prepare the vehicle for measuring
| Fasten the wood laths in the device (1) at chassis rear and front, supported on the face of the side rail, with the help of clamp type fasteners | The cord device can also be held in place by two assistants during the measuring.

| Stretch out the cord between the two measuring bars and adjust the distance in relation to the vehicle chassis | Distance: In vehicles with straight and parallel chassis, 1000 mm at front and at rear. In vehicles with variable chassis dimension, measure the distances between the outside faces of the side rails at the front and at the rear of the chassis. Subtract the smaller measurement from the larger and divide the result by two. This will be the measurement value to be added to the point where the cord secures itself to the bar relative to the narrowest part of the chassis. Example: Chassis front measurement = 780 mm, chassis rear measurement = 904 mm. Then (904-780) / 2 = 62 mm to be added to the front bar measurement.
| Measure the vehicle chassis lateral deformation | With the cord device.
