1 | Remove the thermostat (1) | ||
2 | Attach a wire to the thermostat (1) and immerse it in the water in container (2). | ||
3 | Heat-up the water with a suitable heat source (5), stirring the water at the same time to obtain a uniform temperature. | Do not utilize a blow torch to heat the water. | |
4 | Measure the water temperature. | As from 8 °C, below the opening starts, the temperature must not raise more than 1 to 2 ºC per minute. When the water temperature reaches the beginning of opening value, the valve will have to start to open. | |
5 | Slowly heat-up the water to the full stroke temperature (L) of the short-circuit valve (1.2). | ||
6 | Slowly heat-up the water to the total opening temperature of the main valve (1.1). After 6 to 8 minutes, the main valve (1.1) will have to be completely open. Next, measure the opening. | If the specified values are not obtained or if there is any indication of malfunction, the thermostatic valve (1) must be replaced by a new one. | |
7 | Install the thermostat (1). |
