Risk of injuries and damage to the materials when running the engine with the gearbox engaged. Risk of injuries when performing works with the engine heated and running.

Make sure that the gearbox is in the neutral position.

Use proper clothes ad pay attention to the engine's moving and heated parts.

Turn the general switch off or disconnect the battery negative cable.

Open the engine compartment lid.

 Check the body manufacturer instructions.

Remove the drive belts (3/3a) from the fan.

Release the counter-nut (18) and the nut (16). Through the adjustment nut (17), loosen the belts (3/3a) and remove them.

Remove the drive belt (2) from the air compressor.

Release the bolts (14). Through the adjustment nut (15), loosen the belt (2) and remove it.

Remove the drive belt (1) from the water/alternator pump.

Release the bolt (12). Through the adjustment nut (13), loosen the belt (1) and remove it.



Check

Check the belts state (1/2/3/3a).

Replace them in the case of damages, wearing, dryness, cracks , contamination with oil or traces of overheating.

Check the belts pulleys (4/5/6/7/8/9/10/ 11).

Clean the pulleys eliminating eventual signals of corrosion. Replace them in the case of wearing/damages.



Install

Install the drive belt (1) in the water/alternator pump.

Assemble the belt (1) in the pulleys (4, 6 and 7) and tension it through the adjustment nut (13) until the recommended value is reached. Tighten the bolt (12).



Install the drive belt (2) in the air compressor.

Assemble the belt (2) in the pulleys (6, 8 and 9) and tension it through the adjustment nut (15) until the recommended value is reached. Tighten the bolts (14).



Install the drive belts (3/3a) of the fan.

Assemble the belt (3) in the pulleys (5 and 10), the belt (3a) in the pulleys (10 e 11) and tension them through the adjustment nut (17) until the recommended value is reached. Tighten the nut (16) and the counter-nut (18).


