The prerequisites for installing the roller bellows bearing (D) is that the caliper hole not be worn excessively. The play in the hole can be measured through the new guide for the roller bellows bearing (D).
For this purpose, perform following test:
1 Push in guide.
It should not be possible to push the roller bellows bearing more than 4 mm into the hole without a press fit in the middle area.
2 Measure press-in depth.
If the press-in depth is greater than 4 mm, use the previous bearing (C) for repair.
If the press-in depth is less than 4 mm, use the roller bellows bearing (D).
The roller bellows bearings in repair kit A 000 420 38 82 (version 2) and A 000 420 34 82 (version 3) are not identical and should never be mixed up due to the different diameters!
The versions can be matched up clearly with the brake version numbers.
On the fixed bearing, replace the present cap (previous folding bellows cap) with a steel version cap. Use associated mounting material according to instructions in repair kit.
This repair kit can also be used for the SB7 front brakes when the guide is identical with the series.
