Remove

Detach jam nut (5) and remove lock washer (6)

 If necessary, counterhold threaded ring (7).

Remove threaded ring (7)

 If necessary, heat up the threaded ring (7) so that the sealant is dissolved better on the thread.

Clean

Thoroughly clean thread on threaded ring (7) and on through-drive cover (8) until they are free of grease


The thread must be completely clean so that the sealant can be distributed uniformly over all the threads when installing the threaded ring (7).
Otherwise the through drive may leak or be damaged.

Seal

Apply light coating of sealant to complete thread surface of threaded ring (7)

Apply light coating of sealant to first third of thread surface on through-drive cover (8)

Install

Screw threaded ring (7) all the way into the through-drive cover (8)
