Check

Check insertion direction of bolts (5, 7) on longitudinal member in area of left and right rear spring bracket (1) for fastening the rear axle spring

 The bolts (5, 7) must be inserted from the outside.

If the bolts (5, 7) are not correctly inserted:



Perform no further operations and end measure.

If the bolts (5, 7) are not correctly inserted, then the inner spring shackle (2) has to be checked:



Perform operation step 2.

Check inner spring shackle (2) on left and right rear spring bracket (1) for fastening rear axle spring for damage

 A collision with incorrectly inserted bolts (5, 7) may have damaged the spring shackle (2).

If the spring shackle (2) is not damaged:



Replace incorrectly inserted bolts (5, 7), conduct operation steps 3 to 5 and 10.

If the spring shackle (2) is damaged:



Replace incorrectly inserted bolts (5, 7) and the damaged spring shackle (2), conduct all operations as from operation step 3.

Mount device for lifting vehicle at rear frame

Remove bolts (5, 7)

 Raise and support frame far enough so that the corresponding bolt (5, 7) can be removed.
With regard to return shipment or scrapping of removed parts, please observe the information in your warranty system.

Install new bolts (5, 7) with new nuts

 The correct insertion direction is from the outside inwards.

Replace spring shackle (2)

Detach both spring shackles (2, 4) from spring bracket (1)

 Raise and support frame far enough, until the rear axle springs are relieved, and the upper bolt (3) can be removed with the aid of a drift.

Remove both spring shackles (2, 4) from rear axle spring

 Raise and support frame further until the upper bolt (6) can be removed.
With regard to return shipment or scrapping of removed parts, please observe the information in your warranty system.

Mount new spring shackle (2) and previous spring shackle (4) onto rear axle spring

 Nut, spring shackle to rear axle spring/spring bracket

Mount spring shackles (2, 4) onto spring bracket (1)

 Lower and support frame far enough until the upper bolt (3) can be installed.

 Nut, spring shackle to rear axle spring/spring bracket
