For reasons of accumulation of damage cases due to broken glow plugs on the mentioned engines, a new special tool was developed. The special tool enables a reboring of the broken glow plugs and secures the further use of the cylinder head through the insertion of the threaded adapters, in which the new glow plugs are screwed in.
The previously necessary replacement of the cylinder heads because of the broken glow plugs is therefore no longer necessary.
