We would like to notify you here of an important change with regard to adjusting the parking brake on the above-mentioned vehicles. The following WIS documents are affected:
AR42.20-S-0540EA (model 447.6/7, model 448.7)
AR42.20-S-0540E (model 447.8, 448.8)
The description for adjusting the parking brake has been documented in two different repair documents. With immediate effect, a repair document (AR42.20-S-0540EA) is available for the Vito/Metris (model 447.6/7, model 448.7) and a repair document (AR42.20-S-0540E) for the V-Class (model 447.8, model 448.8) in the WIS.
With immediate effect, when adjusting the parking brake, and depending on the variant involved (Vito/Metris or V-Class), the corresponding repair document (AR42.20-S-0540E or AR42.20-S-0540EA) must be taken into consideration.
V-Class (model 447.8, model 448.8)
When adjusting the parking brake of the V-Class (model 447.8, model 448.8) the following has also been changed (see AR42.20-S-0540E):
Turning the adjustment wheel (105a) opposite the direction for adjusting the brake shoes (103) has been reduced from 9 teeth to 7 teeth.
If necessary, turn the wheel or brake disk (61) slightly until the adjustment wheel (105a) is accessible through the threaded hole. Turn the adjustment wheel (105a) until the wheel or the brake disk (61) locks. Then turn the adjustment wheel (105a) by 7 teeth in the opposite direction. The freewheel must be guaranteed in the process.
