| Prior to cleaning transmission case, check the magnetic drain plugs for presence of metal particles. Larger, granular or irregular shaped particles indicate chipping or similar damage. Smaller, powder-like particles indicates uneven or excessive wear. If metal particles are detected, carefully lookout for damage or wear while inspecting the internal components.
| General Cleaning Procedure : Carefully remove the old sealant without damaging the metal surfaces. | Wash parts in cleaning solvent to remove old lubricant and dirt deposits. Use a bristle brush for cleaning of parts which are with thick deposits of dust.
| Drying the Cleaned Parts : Dry cleaned parts which are wet with low pressure compressed air.
Wiping the wet parts with a cotton cloth could leave fluff deposits. Rigidly hold the bearings to prevent them from spinning when drying.
| Lubricating the Bearings: Immediately after cleaning, lubricate anti-friction bearings with transmission lubricant. | Cover lubricated bearings to protect from dust. |
