This service information has the purpose of informing that during maintenance, when removing engine bottom acoustic encapsulation (2), which comes with a deflector (1) that protects the alternator on the back, must be installed again. Not using these components will bring an alternator warranty refusal when necessary.

The vehicles without this protection, undergoing severe operation conditions as working sites or unpaved roads receive a big amount of dirt such as dust, mud, etc., according to the picture. Consequently, the alternator internal components (3) are exposed to all this contamination which can bring sob abnormalities, such as: noise, mounting damages, brush-compartment damages, diode oxidation and alternator locking.
