ENGINE 457.944 in MODELS NMB613.358 /388 with REAR AXLE 746.217

The use of rear axle 746.217 required design modifications to be made to the engine installation position. This led to a change in the routing diagram of the V-belts. In individual cases there may be undesirable contact of the poly-V-belt tensioning device and the belt pulley of the alternator 1. As a consequence, it is necessary to check the distance between the poly-V-belt tensioning device and the belt pulley of the alternator 1 during each maintenance.

If the distance is less than 1 mm, then the poly-V-belt tensioning device must be replaced to avoid damage to the belt drive and alternator 1.

Inspect condition of V-belt, re-tension
