Unjustified replacement of belt tensioners and/or guide pulleys
Recently there has been an increasing number of cases of unjustified replacement of belt tensioners and/or guide pulleys. In many cases even the entire belt drive system has been replaced in the course of maintenance work and invoiced under warranty.
However, subsequent inspections of the removed components by the suppliers have not revealed any noticeable problems.
TIPS document on the evaluation of noise complaints concerning the belt drive
We want to emphasize that the TIPS document GI13.20-N-058476 has been prepared for evaluating noise complaints concerning the belt drive. This document must be strictly observed. It describes the procedure for tracing the supposed noise problems to the belt drive or for ruling out the belt drive as the cause of the problem.
Invoicing according to the Warranty Manual
Costs must be invoiced in accordance with the provisions of the Warranty manual. Unfortunately, warranty claims are received time and again which do not satisfy these provisions,e.g. where the guide pulley and belt tensioner have been encoded separately, which gives the impression that two different complaints are involved. Therefore we remind you again: Only the damage cause or the features of the primary damage are to be entered as the damage code. All labor/part items relevant to the damage are then to be listed under this damage code.
Rejection of warranty claims in cases of unjustified replacement
Any demonstrably unjustified replacement of belt tensioners and/or guide pulleys in warranty cases will result in the rejection of the warranty claim and the redebiting of the costs.
