Variant coding of the EDC control unit for engine 602.98.

 When replacing the EDC control unit, always remember to enter the correct variant coding as per the Sprinter Diagnosis Manual.

Problems if this is not observed - example of ADR function:

If a variant coding for working speed control is set for a control unit, although this control unit does not have this data record, the electronics will run in an undefined memory and program area each time the ignition is switched on.

The program is therefore no longer reprogrammable and must be replaced.

When entering the variant coding, it is important to wait for the run-on period to end after the request from Star Diagnosis - ignition OFF - and to only switch on the ignition when Star Diagnosis requests to do so.
