Service Information: Delivery and hand-over inspection

Due to recent events we would like to notify you of the following with regard to the above-mentioned vehicles:

In contrast to the statement made in the old version of the document AP00.20-D-1100A, a confirmation of the vehicle handover in the multifunction display of the instrument cluster (IC) control unit is not possible. The message in the instrument cluster (IC) control unit is displayed up to a driven distance of 250 km (or approx. 155 miles) before it is then automatically extinguished.

 A part replacement or a software update will not remedy the problem. The message about the vehicle handover in the instrument cluster (IC) control unit is started automatically and after a driven distance of 250 km (or approx. 155 miles) it is no longer shown. Please advise your customers of these facts.

This behavior is governed by functional requirements. The replacement of components or a software update is not permissible in this context, and will not remedy the problem. Therefore, because of this repair work may not be settled through warranty or goodwill. Maintenance document AP00.20-D-1100A has already been adapted accordingly in a new version.
