Weight Sensing System (WSS) control unit

Location

The WSS control unit is located at the bottom of the seat frame of the front passenger seat.

Task

The WSS control unit determines the weight applied to the front passenger seat by means of a pressure measurement in a seat mat filled with silicone. The WSS control unit transmits information on weight classification to the Supplemental Restraint System (SRS) control unit.
