Location

The frontal acceleration sensors are located at the left and right on the front module.

The B-pillar body acceleration sensors are found in the lower section of the respective B-pillar.

Task

The acceleration sensors determine the body acceleration in the event of a collision. The type of impact can be defined using the signals of the acceleration sensors. The Supplemental Restraint System (SRS) control unit directly reads in information from the acceleration sensors.
