Function sequence "Start heater operation"

 The auxiliary heater can be started manually with the timer (1) for the auxiliary heater or switched on automatically by the timer when set.

 The combustion air blower (11), the coolant circulation pump (8) and glow pin (3) are started.

 After a preliminary delay the fuel metering pump (14) is also started.

 A fuel/air mixture is then formed, which ignites on the glow pin.

 The control module (2) checks formation of the flame in the burner (5) with the aid of the flame monitor (10).

 As soon as a stable flame has formed in the burner, the heat output is switched to the maximum stage (power).

 The coolant is heated in the heat exchanger (6) and the coolant temperature increases.

 As the coolant temperature reaches the temperature thresholds the heater output is reduced in increments.

 The coolant reaches the maximum temperature.

 The control module switches the heater to the cooling phase with shut-off delay and then to the controlled shut-off phase.
